I’m passionate about public health, and I’m passionate about my community. I’ve worked in business and healthcare for more than 20 years, and I first decided to run for office when I saw that the leaders in our state were putting politics before people’s lives and livelihoods. I didn’t realize at first how politics would trump reason, science, common sense, and even basic decency

But to paraphrase John F Kennedy, I believe there
is still more that unites us than divides us.

Every family, like mine, wants to earn a good living, send their kids to good schools, and have access to quality, affordable healthcare. We want to live in a safe community, we want to respect basic human and civil rights, and we want the planet to be here for our grandchildren and beyond.

As a nurse, I believe that no one should have to go into debt just to get the medical care they need. In the Assembly, I led the fight to expand BadgerCare, and as Lieutenant Governor I will continue to fight for affordable, quality health care access for all. As a public health professional, I view many issues through the lens of public health, including gun violence and community safety, mental health and substance abuse, and climate change. As Lieutenant Governor I will work every day to improve the quality of life for every person in Wisconsin.

A fully funded public education system is critical to creating thriving communities. As Lieutenant Governor, I will advocate for birth through college opportunities so that all students and families have equitable access to education throughout their life, and ensure that every child has access to the social support and mental health resources they need to live healthy lives.

Raised in a union-values family, I know that family-supporting wages are the foundation for a vibrant middle class in Wisconsin. As Lieutenant Governor, I will support investments in technical assistance, and workforce and talent development to foster entrepreneur and small business growth and success in Wisconsin.

I’m not a career politician, I’m a nurse and a businessperson, and I think we can do better for all of us.

My career has been in public health and healthcare, and I look at just about everything through that lens. We know that our community is stronger if we have safe drinking water for all. We know our community is stronger if we reduce gun violence. We know that helping mothers and children with prenatal care, maternal support, paid family leave, and stronger early childhood education makes families and communities stronger. We know that when we invest in education we make our economy stronger.

I’m running for Lieutenant Governor to be a partner to Governor Tony Evers. The agenda is simple. Let’s make sure all workers, whether we consider ourselves working-class or middle-class, blue-collar or white-collar, can have family-supporting jobs with time for family, rest, and recreation. Let’s protect our shared values, keep our community safe, and make sure that every school is a great school. Let’s make sure everyone has access to the world’s best healthcare here in America. Let’s honor our democracy and those who fought for equality by uniting around the American values of dignity, respect, and opportunity.

I hope you can join me on this journey, and I look forward to meeting you on the campaign trail!
